Differences from food processors, hand blenders, and juicers
Similar cooking appliances include food processors, hand blenders, and juicers.
Food processors are used primarily for chopping ingredients.
A blender or hand blender, on the other hand, is mainly used for mashing and blending ingredients to make smoothies, baby food, etc. One serving of soup or smoothie is usually about 200 ml, whereas most blender products have a capacity of 400 ml to 1 liter, so a hand blender is recommended if you are cooking for 1 or 2 people, and a blender for 3 or more people.
A blender or hand blender blends the ingredients, including the fibers, so it produces a smooth texture. Juicers, on the other hand, remove such fibers and squeeze the juice, resulting in a lighter juice.
How to use the mixer
There are three main speeds: fast, slow, and flash mode.
The high-speed mode is basically used to make soups and smoothies by blending vegetables and fruits. In contrast, the low-speed mode is used when the operating noise is bothersome or when cleaning the machine.
In addition, most have a flash function that mixes only as long as the switch is held down, in order to allow the ingredients to mix when they separate, for example.
Other
- Recently, mixers made of copolyester resin (commonly known as Tritan) are also available, but we cannot find any papers on its durability. At this stage, we still recommend the traditional standard, made of glass, which is resistant to scratches and does not transfer odors.
- Basically, the cutter is titanium coated and can handle ice, but even so, the use of commercial rock ice is not recommended. When making crushed ice, etc., be sure to use ice made in your refrigerator at home.
- Leafy greens are light and tend to float to the top, but some products have an inner lid, through which you can mix and add water and other ingredients with a special tool.

Finally, as explained in detail in the mobile battery article, we do not recommend cordless (rechargeable) batteries because lithium-ion batteries degrade.

Although the wattage is written for reference, it does not make a big difference in the time it takes to cook, since most recipes call for 30 seconds to 2 minutes of use. Also, the more the motor turns, the more heat is generated, but some nutrients, such as vitamin C, are easily destroyed by heat, so it is important not to increase the temperature as well as the speed.
Based on the above, we recommend the Iris Oyama IJM-S101-C if it has an inner lid, and the Yamazen MJA-G100 if it is cheaper.
I hope the above is helpful.
